Our Vision

At Sway Home, we are honoured to be ambassadors of Pacific Green, a brand that shares our core vision to offer inspirational and sustainable products. From the earliest days, Pacific Green has been a beacon of socially responsible manufacturing, and they have always been deeply invested in spreading the message of sustainability. Almost three decades ago, Pacific Green joined forces with renowned 'James Bond' actor Pierce Brosnan as their environmental spokesperson, and their brand found a place in the American – particularly Hollywood – market.

Their journey began in 1973 in the idyllic setting of Avalon Beach, when local resident Bruce Dowse and fellow entrepreneur/designer Peter Ryan united to introduce their stylish Post & Rail wooden furniture collection to the world. This marked the inception of Pacific Green, a brand that has thrived for five remarkable decades.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Amid a growing global concern for the environment, Bruce and Peter realised the importance of preserving the planet's natural resources. They embarked on a mission to find sustainable alternatives to traditional hardwoods, and their search led them to the South Pacific. There, they discovered vast abandoned plantations of coconut palm trees and established the world's first factory dedicated to the use of coconut palm, all the while respecting, working with, and employing local indigenous communities.

Fast forward to 2023, and we are thrilled to be the exclusive retailer of Pacific Green in Avalon, thanks to the vision of local businesswoman Diana Taylor. Diana will open Australia's only Pacific Green shopfront/showroom on Avalon Parade in early November.

"I'm thrilled and immensely proud to bring this unique, iconic range of design furniture – a perfect match for our coastal lifestyle – to the upper Northern Beaches," Diana remarked. Diana also operates  Sway Curtains at Home Co Belrose, boasting an impressive portfolio that includes prestigious venues like the Opera House, The Australian Museum, and countless Northern Beaches residential projects. The new Avalon showroom will also feature blinds and curtain samples, along with a measure-and-quote service.

Each item is a masterpiece sculpted by hand, utilizing time-honored techniques. No compromises are made on comfort, and every handmade piece of furniture is a unique artwork, destined to become an heirloom cherished by generations.
